Is it Time for New Hair Extensions?

This one is for all the babes out there with any kind of hair extensions! Have you noticed your ends looking a little thinner, a little more frizzy? Do you feel like your hair extensions have lost some of the volume and density? Have you had the same wefts in for 6-8 months?

If you’re noticing any of these things, it might be time to talk about the life-changing magic of NEW WEFTS!

If you use real human hair extensions like I do, you have to remember that hair extensions ARE real hair! This means that the ends will split, strands will break off with heat tools and styling, the color will change slightly (especially if you’re not using high quality products!), and more.

Remember, you can always ask your stylist what kind of condition your extensions are in at your appointment. They’ll help you with a timeframe for when it’s time to start replacing.

Don’t worry — it’s easy to fix your changing wefts by simply replacing a few at your next move up! Usually around the 6-8 month mark, you can start replacing a couple wefts at a time as opposed to buying all new hair. Replacing a few will help fluff your hair back up and regain that fullness and length you craved.

And of course, the more you take care of your hair extensions, the longer they last. Proper brushing and washing are an absolute must! Brushing with a hand on the installation point is so crucial, and so is using the right brush! I personally use my Framar Paddle wet brush when my hair is wet AND dry. It helps prevent breakage and is very gentle on your extensions and scalp.
