Beach Wave Tutorial

The number one question I get on social media and from my clients is, “How do I get curls like yours?!” I love that I’m known for beach waves, and I really enjoy helping my friends and clients learn how to get that long-lasting, relaxed look!

I made a very detailed video for YouTube and IGTV so that anyone can learn how to get curls that last! I cover the little move I make that LOOKS complicated but is actually super easy, and I slow down my process so that you can learn and get as quick as me one day! Plus, I cover all the little tips and tricks for getting salon-quality curls at home and the products I use to protect my hair and keep the curls in place for days!

You can watch the video here, on YouTube, or on IGTV:

Now, here are some of the quicks tips in case you need a refresher:

I tell EVERYONE about my all-time favorite curling iron, the Bio Ionic 1.25’’ with an extra long barrel. Almost every stylist I know favors this curling iron — it’s that good!

Especially if you have fine hair, you don’t want your curling iron to be hotter than 320. The Bio Ionic has awesome heat control — that’s part of why I love it so much!

I always start with an Iles weightless serum for heat protection. It’s so, so important, especially if you have hair extensions!

It may be more time-consuming, but curling small sections of hair will help your curls last longer and give you that beachy, effortless look.

Do not take your curling iron to the ends of your hair and curl up. Instead, start close to your head and curl DOWN! You’ll see what I mean in the video!

Start turning right away to avoid that weird crimp in your hair!

Your curls are going to look really funny at first, but don’t worry — they’re going to look amazing when we’re done!

Leaving your ends nice and straight will give you extra texture and look more relaxed and natural.

Once you’re finished curling, brush out those curls starting at the bottom. This is crucial to getting that nice pretty wave!

I like to finish off with texturizing spray rather than hairspray because it’s less sticky, gives you more volume, and smells amazing!

I always spray my product UP to get more volume!

I hope this helps you babes! I encourage you to practice, practice, practice, and be sure to tag me if you need a little help. And of course, tag me when you post your gorgeous selfies!
